- Scope is IKEA MYGGBETT US article 606.176.41. Shared manual covers E2492 and E2705; exact shipping revision is unresolved, so only common specifications are used.
- Sensor uses Matter over Thread, not direct Wi-Fi. Keep IPv6/mDNS working between border router and HA; IPv6 internet service is not required.
- Use current supported 64-bit Home Assistant OS with its official Matter Server app.
- Install Matter integration and connect its Matter Server. Thread integration alone is not the sensor entity integration.
- At least one compatible Thread border router is mandatory on the home network. A Zigbee-only radio/configuration is not sufficient. DIRIGERA is an example, not the only option for this HA route.
- Use a supported Android/iPhone with current Home Assistant Companion app and Bluetooth; keep it near the sensor and border router during setup.
- Synchronize the intended Thread network credentials to the commissioning phone using official HA/phone-platform instructions.
- Keep the unique device QR/numeric code. If already commissioned, obtain a sharing code from the existing controller instead of routine factory reset.
- Direct Matter instructions do not include IKEA-account onboarding. Mobile platform and border-router onboarding can add account requirements; this is not a universal account-free promise.
- Indoor door/window sensor and magnet; adhesive-strip mounting documented. Follow illustrated alignment and <5 mm gap, leave access to release catch; maximum mounting height 2 m. Screw-related alternative appears in diagram but precise included fastener inventory is not asserted.
